Planning Continues for February Stakeholder Consensus Conference
PTCB | Jan 26, 2017
Christopher Jerry of the Emily Jerry Foundation and Michael Mone of Cardinal Health will be keynote speakers at the Pharmacy Technician Stakeholder Consensus Conference, February 14-16, in Irving, TX. PTCB is collaborating with the American Society of Health-System Pharmacists (ASHP) and the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education (ACPE) to prepare for the invitational conference, which will bring together pharmacy stakeholders from across the country to gather recommendations on how best to ensure technicians are prepared to enter practice.
The goal of the meeting is to strive to develop consensus around such topics as: entry-level knowledge; technician scope of practice; recognition of competencies beyond entry-level practice; education, training, and certification requirements; and state board of pharmacy registration and licensure regulations.
Approximately 100 attendees will attend from state boards of pharmacy, employers, educators, national/state and international pharmacy associations, accreditors, pharmacists, technicians, and the public.
