Since 1974, Wanda Sitoski has dedicated her career to helping patients through her work in hospitals and community pharmacies. After working as a nursing assistant at Nazareth Hospital in Philadelphia, PA, she went on to start her career in pharmacy with Thrift Drug in 1986. Sitoski completed a pharmacy technician training program at Holy Family College in 1987 and later earned her certification through PTCB in 2001.
“I made the decision to become PTCB certified because I wanted to be trained and obtain employment in a field that offers many different areas I enjoy working in," said Sitoski.
Wanda currently works at a mail order facility with OptumRx, one of the largest pharmacy benefit managers (PBM) in the United States, serving more than 12 million individuals nationwide. Her primary responsibilities include processing patient prescriptions and the facility’s daily inventory orders.
"What I find most rewarding about my career," said Sitoski, "is knowing that a patient is receiving the correct drug with the correct quantity in a timely manner."
