Betsy Johnson Regional Hospital, Dunn, NC
After holding various factory positions, Teresa Brady found the career for her when she accepted a position as a pharmacy technician at Johnson Memorial Hospital in 1991. She became PTCB certified in 1995 and has maintained her certification ever since. Over the last 15 years, Teresa has held numerous pharmacy technician positions at health-systems in North Carolina, including Rex Hospital, Good Hope Hospital, Duke Raleigh, and most recently, Betsy Johnson Regional Hospital.
"I have always given my all in anything I decide to pursue," said Brady. "So the decision to become certified was easy for me once I found the right career."
In her current position of Omnicell Automated Dispensing Administrator, Teresa is responsible for training staff, troubleshooting machine issues, policing narcotics, and working with other departments on capturing lost charges and eliminating overrides. She also works alongside the lead pharmacist on a system-wide computer upgrade, which affects the automated dispensing process of the hospital.
"The most rewarding part of my job is being able to problem solve and see my suggestions make things better for our hospital," said Brady. "I enjoy working with other departments to make our hospital the best it can be."
In addition to her work, Teresa volunteers on Betsy Johnson Regional Hospital's Employee Council, a committee that plans various activities and events at the hospital, including Cookies with Santa, the Employee Benefits Fair, and Family Day. Click here for CPhT Spotlights Archive
