Cough, cold, and flu are among the most commonly experienced conditions in adults and children, leading them to seek medical care.
Patients and caregivers frequently seek the pharmacist’s advice for treating symptoms associated with cough, cold and flu, as well as preventing their spread. Pharmacy technicians direct patients to the pharmacist to have specific questions answered related to cough, cold, and flu and assist the patient in locating and purchasing products recommended by the pharmacist. Pharmacy technicians also must learn to assist with identifying patients who may benefit from immunizations and triaging them to the pharmacist for vaccination.
